Honour.

Hi

I would like to hear about examples of orders and medals in collections, which never actually awarded. Recently I saw order of honor (1988) for $300, which I think never awarded:

Interesting topic Tal, but how could you really tell if it was issued or not? Sounds like it would have to be researched.

Honour.

Hi, Gentlemen

I have found a Order of Honor in an online shop. Is it authentic? I am interested in it. Thanks for your advise.

I think so...

I've only held one in my hands, but this matches what I saw. The serial number range also looks good.

From what I'm able to see, it looks good. Nice, clean attachment. I envy your finding one of these!

I think $900 to $1100...

I think $900 to $1100 depending on where you are and how well you negotiate. These remind me of Irreproachable MOOPs: I know they are rare, but I'm still amazed at what they sell for.

Tang Si,

The order is so rare (appx. 80,000) that it's hard to come up with a realistic price. $900 to $1,100 seems good although I would not be surprised to see the price fall between $1,200 and $1,400 in this market, which is changing daily.

Seems that whatever you pay today for a genuine Soviet award is sure to increase tomorrow.

Greg,

Where did you hear that 80,000 pieces of this order exist, or were even manufactured?
Genuineness is impossible to determine simply from these scans. You need hi-res scans of both rivets, of the leaf attachment, and of the edge at the bottom of the order. Without them, don't even remotely think about getting one of these, unless you have a lot of spare $$$
