Here is the Medal "Participant In Military Operations In Syria" Медаль «Участнику Военной Операции В Сирии». Created by Order #732 of 30th November 2015. Awarded to all active participants in the Russian intervention in Syria from 30th September 2015. Although the main operations wound down on 26th February 2016, there continues to be some active Russian involvement in the region. Around 4,000 Russian Federation personnel will already be entitled to this award, with the number not likely to increase dramatically in the near future. The Russian Federation has also lost 6 personnel during these operations.

In February 2016 she flew out to the Russian Base "Khmeimim" in Syria for a photo-shoot to build morale.

Not quite Ann-Margret but horses for courses.

The Russian Ministry Of Defence must have thought it safe enough in Syria to send out such a valuable person.
