How to clean???

Hi
I wonder, does anyone know how to clean shoulderboards when the oxide from silverbullion has come on the goldthread? There must be some of you who have the same problem. I must not affect the thread itself.

I can't think of any way to do it without damaging the thread. I'm always open to hear what others have to say though...

Personally if it was a very old board I would leave it. As Dave says it would almost certainly damamge the bullion thread.
If it was a M1969 board they shouldn't be too hard to find to replace ;)

ok, here goes...

if you try to clean, don't expect major changes and DON'T OVER DO IT.

Use distilled water, very little detergent in it, and cotton. Do it ver lighlty and get ready to speand along time.

I have done this with a few of my old uniforms.

Only do it if you have to; age is a GOOD thing on an old uniform.
