I have seen a fake Victory over Germany for sale here in the UK a few years ago now. At first glance it looked OK, but upon picking it up, I noticed a casting seam mark around the edge of the medal. It was priced at £5 or $10.
Cheers, Ade.

:thumbsup:thumbsup
That's a very old, 2 piece steel suspension. I don't know if these can be specifically dated but I'm happiest when I get a GPW medal on one of these suspensions.

Elvtars, Eric,
That medal was issued at the end of WW2 until late 1940's. Marc |

It has a "U" shaped ring, which is a 1946 variation.
