Do yourself a favor. If you really are as inexperienced to collecting Soviet awards, why would you gamble your money on an advanced medal such as this? buy the more common awards and educate yourself properly. Look at them closely..under a good magnifying glass or even microscope and you will notice a similarity in all of them. Subtle differences, and subtle similarities. That's where the beauty of this hobby is.

99% of all the drowning medals you find online are fake. Hoping to find an authentic specimen at "rock-bottom" pricing is a pipe dream.

Hello,

I actally am collecting medals from all over the world, ecpecially rescue medals(for shipwreaking), so that is why I am interrested in this soviet medal only. But I am trying to buy an original.

There are some Russian Federation medals you might be interested in, one or two issued for the Kursk incident, but also I believe there is a more general commemorative medal for sea rescue operations and a newly issued award for 60th anniversary of the breaking of sea blockade in baltic sea. Some official, most not. There is also a russian federation award for saving life from drowning. Good luck!
