Ebay Russian Special Forces Badge ?

Hi everyone @ SMA. My name is Andy. I just joined the other day. I am a new collector as such and was wanting to know if this item is a fake ?
Also could someone point me in the right direction for a good honest military dealer/website. I am really into tanks/snipers & special forces and am trying to obtain stuff specific to these types.

What you show is but one of an almost endless series of currently-made dubious badges.

Andy,

These are not fakes in the sense that they are not intended to be fraudulently passed instead of something original. They are simply commercially produced badges of dubious use/meaning/value IMHO.

I just found this one on e-pay and the seller claims it is from Latvia, which would explain the use of Latin "alfabet':laff (OK, it wasn't that funny). But, considering the high number of fakes from that region, I have to ask - what do you guys think?

God only knows, but I doubt it. This is more likely a labor "veteran" for some civilian institution.

I agree, it could be a legit veteran badge, but certainly not from the KGB "Alfa".
