Russian language websites: orders, medals, badges...
After being shown here recently some new (to me) Russian language resources I thought I'd start listing them here and hoping others will contribute. The idea is that as they are compiled in this thread a master-thread will be created in the 'online resources' section of the reference section.
"Mondvor", The comprehensive website to Soviet orders and medals: ОРДЕНА И МЕДАЛИ СССР 1985 issues of the OPW 1&2: Последнее обновление Distinguished railway employee badges: (1943-1957) Shockworker of Stalin's labor badges: Soviet Shock-Worker Badges

Re: Russian language websites: orders, medals, badges...
Yeah, certainly more appropriate and if you read my general proposal my plan was to move it here when and if we got some 'action'. The main reason for posting where I did is that the 'online reference' thread is a bit buried, it gets very little attention these days and by posting what I did where I did I was hoping to get more participation.
>just keep the links dealer/commercial free please That's the rub. I try and play by the rules as much as I can but when I can't even read the language it's pretty hard to discern between commercial and non-commercial sites. Yes, I do an online translator before I post links here and I haven't seen any obvious commercial advertisments and if I did see that I wouldn't break the law. But the point is I really hope there are websites focusing on, say, para-badges, or otlichnik badges or general military badges out there that us monoglots, or English-reading only, can find. And by recent developments it seems there could be quite a few Russian sites that we just have no clue about.

Keep posting to the thread. Doesn't matter where it's located it's going to get buried if it doesn't get posted to. The chances of a thread that doesn't get posted to getting buried faster are only greater in a section with more activity..your choice. If you feel it's got a better chance of being contributed to in General Talk, I'm happy to move it back.
Doesn't take a translator to recognize an obvious sales site. Award with a shopping cart next to it, along with a price in rubles/dollars/euros...otherwise if the obvious isn't present use your judgment.

Re: Russian language websites: orders, medals, badges...
Well, I guess that's it. There are only five Russian language websites on the whole internet dedicated to Soviet ODMs.
In my failing mind I was picturing, like, many as I was assuming (yeah, I know) there were thousands of Russian collectors. I guess the only real interest is outside of Russia. Sorry for the hubbub.

BDHX medals page: Медали ВДНХ | Коллекционирование, хобби и увлечения.
There may be more pages at this site dealing with what we like; off to surf. BCXB & BDHX at allfaler.ru : http://translate.google.com/translat...ed=0CGcQ7gEwAA This site seems like a valuable resource and also seems to translate well.
