View Poll Results: What do you think of an mini-award graphic for forum supporters?
$20 increments would be great. A new award for each time I donate. 8 47.06%
$50 increments would be better, I like a little privacy regarding what I choose to donate. 1 5.88%
I think one graphic only should be given no matter what the donation. 5 29.41%
I don't like it. I'd rather my donations not be recognized by a graphic. 3 17.65%

Mark,

Let me create the one that will be used for the awards program first, and we'll try to make one that's original for you. I'd like to keep them noticeably different, just to avoid confusion.

In my mind, as Forum Supporters; either we all have an award related to our level of donation, that could be different; or we all have the same award, related to the fact that we have donated. The ones who did not donate simply have nothing.

I don't see the benefit (and let's just think to future new members visiting the web site and the Forum) of having for each of us our own "personal" system of awards...

I know we all are democrats, but...

Ch.
Christophe,

As you know I completely agree with you on this matter when you say: "... we all have the same award, related to the fact that we have donated... "
And that has nothing to do with the amount I donated, it's just because I find it fairer!

And as I said before, imho this graphic should have nothing to do with real Soviet Awards!
If this was a Forum for gamers, playing some kind of WWII game for example, I would perfectly agree that the players could be awarded real mini-awards of the country they would be playing, for whatever they would have done in the game to deserve them. I've seen this in other places, it looks nice and interesting in that context.
Here we are "awarding" the donors, which has nothing to do with Combat or Labor Awards! In this context I believe the wreath (Imperial or not btw I haven't seen it yet) Art first made would be an appropriate award for the donors! It's unique, has an FS inside, what else can we ask?!...
And I believe that would perfectly serve it's purpose, motivate new (and older!...) members to donate! So guys, please donate, the Forum needs you!

Best,

Dolf

Art,

Why not... We just need to specify this somewhere... so that new comers are not confused... By newcomers, I mean those who did not follow this discussion since its beginning...

Ch.

BTW : your Red Star for level 1 is "top"...

Christophe,

Come on... it's not "Imperial" !...
It's just a new award, created only to award the donors of this Forum!
So... unique and very nice!
Anyway, I'm proud of wearing it!

Just a last note for you: we did nothing to deserve even a copy/replica/miniature of such a valuable piece as a Soviet Award!
Only the brave comrades who fought for the Motherland have the right to wear such Awards!

Best,

Dolf

PS: Why is it that even when you're on the Forum, therefore online, I always see your status as if you were offline (red color rather than yellow) ?

And Art, why is it that some members have a symbol + attached to their nick?! I can see that on the main page of the Forum, on the Currently Active Users list of members. For example HuliganRS and vatjan, they appear like this: HuliganRS+ and vatjan+
Is this a problem with my software, an error, or is there a reason?

Thanks,

Dolf

Guys,

I knew everyone wouldn't be happy with the awards which is why I you can choose whatever you want. Let's not get bogged down in semantics in awarding these mini-badges to ourselves, I mean we are collectors correct? If you place your mouse pointer over the graphic it tells you what it's for so I don't think there will be any confusion. if so, all they have to do is ask.

Dolf,

I honestly don't know..I'll have to look into that. I'm not aware of why they are appearing like that. I wonder if they do this for anyone else?
