Just purchased these medals. Will post the reverse when I receive them.

Received the medals. I'm posting the obverse and reverse. The 3rd class has a different ring than the 1st and 2nd class.

The Medals "For Distinction In Military Service" (Медали «За Отличие В Военной Службе») were founded on 27th March 1995 by ministerial decree #123.

Here is the 1st Class Type 1.

As with all Ministerial and some Federal awards of the Russian Federation the Medals are made by different mints under different contracts and this is represented by a great deal of variation in mint marks and quality.

Here is a Type 1 Variation 1 1st Class. A top quality Saint Petersburg Mint piece as fresh today as when it was struck over 21 years ago.

Awarded to Major Valerij Patvakanovich Babajan by Order #127 of 16th March 1996 (less than a year after creation) by the commander of Field Post 30744 Colonel Hrypov.

30744 was the 123rd Moto-Rifle Regiment based at the 102nd Military Base Of The Group Of Russian Forces In The Transcaucasus in Gyumri (formerly Leninakhan).
