Re: 26th Army Summer of 41

Fellas, I had to modify the messerschmitt storey in relation to where it took place. This is my screw up. Prior to giving me hell for it, pls remember that I am trying my best to relay this to you.:thumbsup

PICS

Here fellas, a few pics.

The hospital is after Dukla(dad on the right).

Uniform=Czech Army.

The second is not a plug for the Desantnik Digest. My dad does not read or write in English. He periodically spends alot time going through the book reviewing the contents. He does like the book a great deal.:thumbsup

Can you guys help out with this pls?
Norm, I can't hear it, but in proper Russian (taking into account your dad's southern Ukrainian/Russian accent)

Krasnoarmeets byl geroi
na razvedku on khodil
shto nachalstvu dolozhil.
Khai, khai krasnii geroi
na razvedku boevuyu.

Very rough translation :

The bold Red scout
went on patrol and
to the command did report.
What a really brave lad
on a combat patrol.

Re: 26th Army Summer of 41

Thanks Pavlo, very very interesting! Gotta say, actually pretty darn cool. Most befitting for the recipient.:thumbsup

He gave me another long one yesterday about a tankist. Questions is, do you guys want to "hear" it? I sure do.

Thanks again!

Re: 26th Army Summer of 41

Hi Norm, they are easy and fairly cheap to buy here in the UK. They sell at about £399/$750. They are deactivated of course. But I have fired one live with the British Army :thumbsup

I collect WW2 Soviet infantry weapons. I will do a thread about them sometime if there is any interest?

I look forwards to hearing more from your Dad.

Cheers, Ade.

Re: 26th Army Summer of 41

Wow, a cool piece for the garden to say the least-keeps the neighbours honest.:thumbsup

A deactivated PPsh here in Canada goes from $1500 to $2000. If you have permits up the ying yang before 1978, you can purchase a real one (ie., not deactivated) here for ~$500. Hmmmm, something wrong here?

Pls do a thread on the weapons-go for it!:thumbsup What was it like to shoot a real Maxim?
