Medal "20 Years Of The Gagauz Republic".
On to the medal, "Gagauzia 20 Years Autonomous Republic". Sorry, no doc with this one. Note the wolf- this is the animal symbol associated with Gagauzia.

Medal "20 Years Of The Gagauz Republic".
Firstly just what is Gagauzia? Gagauzia is a rather unknown autonomous region of the former Soviet Union now an integral part of the Republic Of Moldova. Gagauzia isn't as "removed" from Moldova as the more famous region of Transnistria but it is just as distinct. As Transnistria uses a different alphabet to Moldova, Gagauzia uses yet another language, Gagauz which is based on Turkish rather than Romanian. The population of Gagauz people in the world is estimated at around 160,000.
Although this Medal is dated 1990-2010 the region was only official instituted in 1994. This commemorative is an obscure Medal most likely awarded to Gagauzian Police Forces (as that is the only "true" Gagauz force).
