Does anyone know the highest numbered Order of the Red Star that was actually (verifiably - documented) awarded?

ibaya: That was Dave's set. You probably saw it on eBay when Dave was selling it.

Dave: You're looking at roughly 3,8XX,XXX They were still awarding late RS in 2004!

Impossible to see the S/N from these pictures... :eek:

Why don't you try to post scans, rather than pictures as I suggested? The quality is much better!

In the scan, it´s dificult to see the numbers.

Type 2 Red Star semi to full flared edges, very common variation.

Yes, Danny is right, with that S/N your Red Star should be of the most recent Type 2, semi to full flared edges, according to Paul Mc Daniel.

Hi,

i just wan't to add some photos of Red Star type 6 var.5 i have bought. It has nice concave reverse and i was searching this variation to my collection long time.
I think it's interesting to see for the other collectors also.

Have you ever wondered what's underneath the horse shoe on the Red Star?

And the answer is (drumroll) ... nothing! :)

Interesting pictures! But the removal of the horseshoe must have ruined the order, or?

How is the horseshoe fastened on later issues? Soldering?
