Fakes in this realm?
I have not addressed fakes re Deputy badges and generally don't like to talk about that but, they do apparently exist here as well.
Attached are scans of photos that I took of a book offered for sale, which I held for a week before declining. I took photos but I did not have digital then. (This may have been late 1999 or so.) Sometimes and ordinary badge can become extrordinary if the recipient was extra-ordinary. Scans of document to G. Zhukov, member Supreme Soviet 1946. (But the picture is not hi-definition to show that the document lacked detail!) IT was finer details of the print that finally convinced me to say no. BUt they do not show here very well either. So, enjoy knowing a hero was recognized by his government. A. |

Do these play in the same league as the Chrustjew 1958 set that is floating on eBay at about 6000 USD?

A comma in the number
Exactly! As titled there was a comma in the number offered.
Despite the bad picture, look at the ribbons on the stamp of the seal, where it should say "Proletari . . . Unite." You would note in these pictures the ribbons appear blank. They had "dots" not words, which can't be shown because they fade when reduced in size. A give away was the not perfect printing. Beware "dots." |
