Fake Orders of Lenin

Hi,

it most likely is a fake; less detail on Lenin`s portrait, crude stamped number, strange screwpost base with obvious fake patina (to hide solder ?), missing wearing traces and genuine patina, the uncommon "outer rim" seen on some parts of the edge of the reverse, etc.

But at the first glimpse the obverse looked quite convincing ;)

could be juste a suspension-type converted to produce a fake?

Most likely a later, suspension type from whose SN a digit was erased.
I wouldn't mind larger, higher-resolution scans.

Agree, it is a conversion from a T4. The minitmark doesn't lie.

No, you did not get it in this case. It is a later, suspension-type order that was altered by removing the suspension ring and erasing probably one digit, to make it look as what should be: a screwback Order of Lenin of the Monetny Dvor type.

That's exact. As an order, it has been irremediably damaged. Now, it can plug a hole in the collection IF presented as what it really is, or it can be seen as an assembly of different precious metals.
