Ammunition bearer, 1st machine gun company, private xxx i think the first line would be.

The first word I'm not too sure about is подносчика.... the ammunition bearer part. It seems to literally mean "porter" so i would take that as being transporting ammo around. Could be wrong though! ...usually am :)

He's a "Number 3". #1 being the trigger man, #2 being the loader and #3 being "Johnny on-the-spot" with the ammo. When not playing the role of "Johnny" he's free to take some pot shots with his own rifle (or whatever else he's issued). The usual machinegun troika.

In a counter-attack their positions will have been fixed so he wouldn't have been portering crates of cartridges but free to take 3 Germans out.
