November 28, 1943: During the attack of the german troops (supported by tanks), connections between the Batallion Command Center and the 7th Infantry Unit were broken.

Comrade Konevskiy immediatelly restored the communications, having eliminated all damage to communication lines, while being at a constant enemy fire.

When enemy troops wanted to capture the brave signaller, he opened fire from his personal rifle, having put the enemy troops to flight.

In this battle Konevskiy was injured. Having received first aid in a field hospital, he returned to his batallion and continues to carry his duty, securing the communications between the Command Center and the fighting units.
