And here is the back, anyone who can read the writing? I got a mail from a good friend in Mongolia, and the answer is : Motherland order from the present Democratic Republic of Mongolia! Christer |

Christer,
Sorry that I've only seen this one now. On Dr. Battushig's book, this Order is called "The Order of Freedom", and it's a recent award from the Mongolian Democratic Party. Dolf |

Re: The Order of Freedom
Correct. It is not an official national award, it is the "Order of Freedom" of the Democratic Party (Ардчилсан нам). Battushig shows it as B50.
For these party "orders" (as for the parties?), the "jewels" are pretty fragile and tend to fall off. |

Re: Freedom Order
The Freedom Order (Эрх Челөөний Одон) is constructed from brass with rather plastic "enamel". Certainly a long way from the Soviet made state Orders.

I've seen considerably worse quality held in considerably higher esteem.
If you don't know any better..... Here the version awarded by the Mongolian Social Democrat Party, which merged with the Freedom Party in 2000. The reverse has the Party's slogan "Эрх Чөлөө, Шудрага Ёс, Эв Нэгдэл" (Freedom, Honesty, Unity).
