Soviet and Russian uniforms book

Has anyone seen this book, Military Clothing of the Armed Forces of the USSR and Russia (1917-1990's), published by Moscow Military Publishers in 1999, or is familiar with it? I seem to recall seeing a photo of the cover posted on the forum, but now cannot locate where it was, or what was said about it.

Yes, this is exactly the one I was referring to. Do you happen to remember in which forum thread it was mentioned recently? I was trying to find out what was being said about it. Also, does anyone know of a translation of this book being available? :)

I only found Charlet evocating it about uniforms in his post dated 11 April, 2003.
the way to find it is : Soviet Military Awards > Uniforms, Hats and Insignia > walk-out general tunic.
But, no other specific comment.
This book can be found and bought on the web. I have not seen any comment related to it.

I recently bought this book from Eastview and they said there was no English translation of this book at the moment. It is quite a good reference if you have the 1958, 59, 69, 74 and 88 regulations as these fill in the gaps in between the newly introduced regulations.
An English translation would be greatly received.

If you can read Russian this is the best and most comprehensive book on Soviet uniform regulations so far. It deals only with thye official regulations and ammendments though. There are no actual photos or details on consruction.

Hey Vyopr!

I have a copy. It is, as Shawn says, comprehensive but the illustrations suffer from old Soviet style printing and will not copy well electronically. It does include stuff on the post Soviet period but as things kept (and continue) changing it does not contain everything within the title's last time period. Hardly their fault, though. It does show up on eBay all the time, though.

Let me know if you'd like to borrow it for a while.
