KGB dagger case.

Note how different is this case from cases you'd normally see with Admiral daggers.

KGB crest on teh dagger blade.

KGb crest looks odd.

Also, what are all those pot marks? The blade should be polished with no marks.

Your dagger is quite interesting. I believe that I was offered this very same piece at one point in the last year or so by an emigre dealer at the Meadowlands militaria show in Union, NJ. As I recall, he was asking somewhere between three and four hundred dollars for it.

The sloppy aplication of the crest turned me off and the low price seemed strange, too.

"KGB"

As a dealer I have been offered a few of these daggers. I am very suspect of them. They are not well made and usually are very vauge on who got them and from whom they were issued, etc. Also, they tend to never have any other items with them from the same guy. I would not get involved with these or many other "KGB" items. Maybe Caza knows if the KGB even gave these out.

Gentlemen,

I agree with you - this dagger does not look real to me.

I already mentioned my concerns in the comment to the pictures and just wanted to get your opinions.

Best,
William

knowing the quality fabrication of even the last more common navy daggers, I do not see why the chrome metal should be so uglyly porous and the metal dedication plate crudely cut...these and yours doubts gentlemen make me infer it is an amazing fake.

Gentlemen,

... and the funniest thing about this dagger is that the Soviet crest was cut out of a 5 kopeks coin. LOL!
