I. P. Kozka Full Cavalier Set

USSR,

First, I suggest a moderator move your posts to the Glory or Fake Glory thread (as they see fit) to place this group in its proper forum spot.

As for the legitimacy of this group I offer the following:

1) The serial numbers correspond to those awarded to Kozka.

2) At first glance, the OGI and OGIII appear to be within the realm of legitimate. The images, especially of the OGI, are simply too poor to render a precise judgment as to the orders' authenticity.

3) The duplicate OGII has an atypical number style as well as a non-standard "D" placement.

4) The Full Cavalier booklet is legitimate.

What is the current asking price for this group?

Regards,

slava1stclass

Re: Fake Orders of Labor Glory

Thanks for your response Slava!

I'm sorry I've posted the pictures in the wrong forum department. I didn't notice.

Regarding the price: it's for sale for $8000. I've asked the seller to send better scans yesterday and I'm waiting for them.

Good to know the numbers match and the a-typical replacement "D" doesn't necessarily has to be a bad sign.

Thanks again and I will post the scans after I have received them.

Gents,

As it turns out, this set is being offered at the London-based Morton and Eden auction house's November 27th, 2013 auction.

Yes, I know. But what are you saying by that? Does it make it more likely to be genuine or not?

The Auction house just sent me some additional pictures of the OG1. Let's see what the experts say...

Fake Orders of Glory

USSR,

I'm confident in the OGI's authenticity.

Re: Fake Orders of Glory

Thanks guys, so that makes it likely that the OG2&3 are real as well? I've got a PM that the 2nd class is a converted 3rd class...

USSR,

As stated in my original response, I do not feel comfortable with the OGII. I would guess Kozka's original OGII went missing and this so-called "duplicate" OGII was fabricated to make this a "complete" Full Cavalier set.

I'm a bit more comfortable with the OGIII although better images would be nice.

Bottom Line: If one were to bid on this "set" one would be bidding on an authentic
OGI, a likely authentic OGIII and an authentic Full Cavalier booklet - that's it.
