This one should be sold as a reproduction.

comparison original vs fake

Here is a comparison of the Excellence in the RKKA badge. On the left is a original and on the right a fake.
Notice the differences in hammer and sickle, the difference in the soldiers head and the thickness of the inscription.

Are both variations (numbered and not numbered reverse) exactly identical on the obverse?
Is there a mirror reverse type or variation or this one is always flat reverse?

Thanks,

Dolf

Hello Dolf

I only know two versions of the badge.
The older one´s are numbered and have a flat reserve (end of 1930´s), the newer one´s have a mirrow reserve and have no numbers (beginnin 1940´s).

regards
Andreas

Alfred,
here are two genuine looking versions of the early RKKA badge that are different because they were manufactured in different facilities. One of them resembles your fake. Deviations in hammer and sickle, the soldier's head and the thickness of the inscription may not be enough to identify a fake.

Dietrich,

You are correct!

The piece in question is not right.

Rusty.

Dietrich,

Both your badges are genuine and are indeed variations. Danny's badge however is a fake - they never used this type of screwpost back in those days. This fake is identical to posts ## 1 and 2 in this thread.

The badge and the nut looks okay to me. I ´ve seen the nut on other badges, too.
But let´s wait for other oppinions.

Andreas
