I find it very strange that people always have vast amounts of money for fakes but rarely for the real deal....

Pay for a fake with fake money?

Is there anything out of ORDER with this? I probably will be selling if authentic. As you can tell, the DOC hasn't been opened for a while & the new staples were probably necessary as evidenced by the rust. Thanks for everyone's help.

Please do not attempt to "replace" or "restore" the staples. . .

I know what you're saying about the staples but the replacement occurred before I acquired the order.

a friend of mine wants to buy an order of Lenin (early type), but is not sure if it is genuine and how much money is realistic to pay for such a heavily damaged piece.

It is in the mid 6000`serial number-range - any suggestions ?

I'm no expert but shouldn't it have a line over the 'Й' in the mint mark?
Plus, without seeing the serial number I wouldn't even bother looking twice.

Even though a noob, I would say that it looks a bit... "Weird".

Especially the missing signs in the mint mark, and removed serial (which doesn't really make sense, because; Hey! The SSSR fell 21 years ago! No one's going to be grabbed by the KGB for selling their stash)
