Order instituted to commemorate 50th anniversary of DPRK

Pyongyang, May 15th (KCNA) -- The Central People's Committee of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea issued a decree dated May 6th on instituting the DPRK 50th anniversary commemoration order. According to the decree, the DPRK, in the past 50 years, has squarely taken the road of Juche, breaking through manifold hardships and difficulties and turned into a powerful socialist state of independence, self-sustenance and self-reliance in national defence with the firm independent national economy, bright national culture and powerful national defence capacities under the wise leadership of President Kim Il Sung and the Workers' Party of Korea. The order was instituted to exalt the exploits of President Kim II Sung, the father of socialist Korea, in state building for all ages and to commemorate the proud 50 years full of victory and glory covered by the republic, said the decree. The decree approved regulations of awarding the order and diagram.

Here is the Democratic People's Republic Of Korea Foundation 50th Anniversary Commemorative Order (조선민주주의인민공화국창건50돐년기념훈장) which was founded in 1998 and is almost identical to the Democratic People's Republic Of Korea Foundation Commemorative Order albeit with added numbers. The Order is of a two piece construction.

Lots more to come! There are only so many hours of light to photograph and staring at piles of Orders looking for differences in font isn't the most inspirational thing to do day after day. There doesn't seem to be any information even nearly comparable to what is on this forum here anywhere else on the entire internet so hopefully this is helping collectors, helping them not get ripped off too. The recent international interest caused by reported events has inspired some people to pay outrageous prices for DPRK items even though items are now coming out of the DPRK at such a rate that my two best suppliers have been giving me DPRK items free of charge to stop the market being flooded as they know when an item enters my collection it is "demonetised", something I really can't complain about. It does say something about the quantity of items out there though if dealers aren't just sitting on items to keep market prices up but also giving them away (which also means paying for their postage) to have others store them away from the market. Are the warehouses full? All I know is there are vast numbers of items out there that will continue to present themselves.

I will certainly need some inspiration to sort through 50+ Type 8 Orders Of The National Flag 3rd Class and put them into variations. So far I have collected 12 Types and identified a possible 13th Type (if it is legitimate) and almost all of them have a number of variations (I've identified 48 so far).

I better get some more posted and stop talking about it!
