Soviet Light weapons forum
I have a pretty decent collection of Soviet uniforms, hats, caps, medals, badges, field equipment, optics, night vision, building and train plaques, etc........
Is there a possibility of a "Soviet and Eastern Bloc Weapons" Forum? I am a big military weapons collector, (which is most of where my money goes), and wonder if any else has Soviet weapons. I currently have as part of my collection: 1943 Soviet Moisin Nagant 91/30, (Tula Arsenal) 1944 Soviet M-44, (w/1942 PU Scope), (Tula Arsenal) Baikil Makarov, (Tula Arsenal) Imez Makarov 1954 Soviet SKS, (Tula Arsenal) Romanian AKM-74 Romanian AK-101 Yugoslavian AK-47 Yugoslavian RPK Yugoslavian SKS A large collection of Soviet and Eastern Bloc Bayonets And I also have a 1940 JP Sauer K98k Mauser captured by the Russians at Stalingrad!! I was just wondering if anyone would have a use for a forum like that here.

Timmey,
Sounds interesting..If anyone likes this idea, post a reply and let us know. If it seems like a popular idea we should be able to do something. Art

Sounds great. I have a 1941 dated SVT that was brought back by an American soldier who captured it in France! Many Moisins and SVT's are available nowadays here in the US but most have been factory reconditioned with serial numbers etched on with an electro-pencil and reblued. Genuine untouched-since-the-war examples are hard to come by.

You are right, but I like the challange of finding the untouched ones, like all of mine are. P.S. I know this is a Soviet forum but I am the most excited by my newest find; a Springfield Armory 1942 M-1 Garand that was produced for the "Lend-Lease" program for Britian after Dunkirk. They did not have time to re-train their troops on a new rifle, so they were issued to the home guard, thus not used much! Looks almost as new as the day she was produced! Art, Thanks for the message, the PM won't give me enough room! I have been collecting Soviet items for 23 years. I have been collecting weapons for 16 years. I am quite knowledgeable in firearms due to my six years of U.S. Army experience as a "Scout-Sniper" Here is my current weapons inventory: Poly-Tech "Pre-Ban" M-14 Springfield Armory M-14 South African R-1 FN-FAL Armalite M-15A2, (M-16) Poly-Tech "Folding Stock" AK-47 Romanian AK-74 Romanian AK-101 Norinco AKMS-101 1939 BSW K98k Mauser, all matching 1940 JP Sauer K98k "Russian Capture" Mauser 1942 Springfield Armory "Lend-Lease" M-1 Garand 1952 Winchester/Springfield M-1D Garand Sniper Rifle 1944 Springfield M-1 Garand Yugoslavian SKS Moisin Nagant 91/30 Remington 700 PSS Sniper Rifle Early Chinese Military SKS 1954 Russian SKS, Tula Arsonal 1943 Inland M-1 Carbine 1944 Inland M-1 carbine, (turned into an M-3 for Vietnam and fitted with first generation infared scope). Personally I have no interest in guns. However I am sure there are many people who would be interested. But, I have one concern, this site has often been at its limits when handling what it already handles.
Why not a separate but linked site?? Shawn |

Idon't like the idea at all. This forum has very specific purpose.
There are many forums devoted to weapons, and I don't think it is a needed supplement to this forum. Tal Inbar

Gun forum
I have to agree with Tal, I think guns are under a different category and not really "militaria" like medals or uniforms are. I just think that this site is not really a gun site; I would not support a gun forum or a vehicle forum, etc, they just seem to be on the other side of the tracks.
