169 pages showing black and white depictions and descriptions of the various law enforcement badges. Printed in 1991, Russian text.

Does anyone have a translation for this book? Looking at the pictures is great but it would be really nice if I could understand, even a little, of what it is about.

I think that one BIG roadblock in the way of creating more collectors in the Soviet field is the lack of multiple reference works in english. I believe that whoever starts publishing english translations of the texts is going to make a fortune, and the numbers of collectors will expand dramatically.

It's just my personal IMHO :), but I believe the book is so incomplete, it's not worth translating.

I have a translation of the illustration captions, but not the entire text. Alexi is right that the text has many problems and may not be worth anyone's effort to translate. However, it is nice to be able to read the captions even if some are wonr and some fakes.

I can send a copy to anyone who PM's me. Alternately, I am happy to post the translation of the captions on the forum site as long as Art is comfortable with that. I think there would be no copyright problems as I did the translation myself, it is only partial (the captions) and Russia is still not a singatory of the international copyright agreement anyway.

I think you'll find most authors would be quite happy to have book extracts published on a site like this, because it means more people buy the book. Half the problem with this field is most of the books are in Russian and it's difficult to know what books to look for, because without this sort of section to the forum no one by a select few even know what the books are called.
