sorry not to have been clear enough gentlemen: I have a badge identical to Tachkentski's one, but I don't have any pic of it. The photos I posted are of course from a reliable source and I use them now a referenec for comparison!

Rusty,

Very suspicious - I don't like the MD mark, screwpost base, serial numebr, etc.

Yes, I can attest to that. I've seen them, and they are quite good. There is just one minor detail on the fakes, that I am not going to disclose :)

after my fronteer medal, here's what I believe my second fake in my collection (for the other, I spent a lot of patience and moooooney at good dealers...;)).
It came from Estonia or neighborood...Again I didn't heard a warning bell in my mind telling me "enamels are not beautifull red crimson blood" like those shown on the pics of a well known expensive guy of NJ...
the enamels are too dark though very well made.

the reveerse worried me a few times after (oh! curious! I just began to haunt a very good US forum...;)...and began to learn A LOT...)

the conical screwpost base...no patina...but still nice job, but not like the pics of NJ guy...

and...reading some posts:

soviet enamels are finished by polishing, giving a soft and perfect surface!

on my piece, still very nice but very fake (I think), you can see "waves" of hot enamel , flushing not perfectly on the "boundary" made by the metal sculptures...
on a genuine the enamels touch perfectly the metal sculptures.

if you could confirm my hypothesis...thanks!

the doc will come in the fakes doc section.

Charlet,

I also believe this badge is a fake - it has problems with the enamel, that you had mentioned, the flag pole is not quite right, and I don't like the screwpost attachement.

I'd tell the main givewaways for the averse are a red strawberry for the enamels, and by manyfying with daylight, the waves of enamel...

Authentic. However, the S/N probably changed, which is not ALWAYS a bad sign in those badges.
