"Legal Code of State Awards of the USSR", Moscow 1987. 333 page, hardcover. Official Soviet text which spells out all the rules and regulations of medals. Includes black and white illustrations, critera for award, criteria for confiscation, replacement, method of wear. Even includes facsimilies of blank award recommendation documents.

Does anyone know where can I get an 'The Official regulations, Sbornik book' from? I assume this is written in Russian, and there is not an English, translated version I can get? Is this book any good as a reference?

Sorry, but I do not have a scanner, I need to get one. I would be surprised if nobody else here in the forum has a copy of this book. This book is in many of the book stores in Tallinn, but the only ones I have seen in America were at the Kamkin store, which has since closed. When I get a scanner, I will post this!

Back to a part of Shane's question. Does anyone know if it has been translated??? It would be a great service to the non-Russian speaking collecting community.

As it was an official USSR law it might be worth checking with the US Library of Congress (or anyone's local university library) to see if the US government translated it. Maybe FIBIS or the BBC???
