Just like there was State prize - there used to be Komsomol Prize - quite prestigious title at the time.
Front of the Komsomol Prize medal. Size: 1 1/4" by 1 3/4". Reverse of the VLKSM Prize badge. It looks like this piece was never awarded, as the serial number is not engraved. The badge itself looks worn. Last edited by CtahhR; 08-03-2012 at 08:02 PM. |

You have just bumped into the latest local craze: get some old badges that do not sell well, get some VLKSM membership badges, remove the pins from the later, and glue them onto the former. You got a brand new, unpublished variety of VLKSM badge. Marc |

This badge is legit. It's a minor award from the "Znanie" (knowledge) society. I believe it was awarded for giving 10 or so lectures on science and technology.
