1955 Krushchev Dinner Invitation.
Found this rummaging through some boxes of Soviet stuff I've accumulated over the years.
Thought I'd share with you. Don't know if there are many around. |

Re: A Paper item, Love that drawer
I've got to say, that is certainly not something you see everyday.:wow I'd try to get the back story on that one.

Re: A Paper item, Love that drawer
I can't comment about the authenticity of the item but a blurb dug up on Google from "The Hindu" on 12 December 1955 would put them in the area.
"Mr. Nikita Khrushchev, First Secretary of the Soviet Communist Party, declared in Srinagar on December 10, amidst thunderous cheers from thousands of Kashmiris, that Kashmir was part and parcel of India. "The question of Kashmir as one of the States of the Republic of India has been decided by the people of Kashmir." He said imperialist forces under the influence of which Pakistan had come and which had always followed a policy of divide and rule were working against Kashmir's goal of solidarity with India. Several times in his speech, Mr. Khrushchev emphasised that Kashmir, the land of Mr. Nehru, was part of India. They were visiting Kashmir because they had the highest regard for Mr. Nehru. Mr. Khrushchev was replying to a welcome address presented to him and the Soviet Premier, Mr. Nikolai Bulganin, by the Prime Minister of Kashmir, Bakshi Ghulam Mohammed." Re: A Paper item, Love that drawer
This appears at first glance to be genuine.
