Phillip, that is just the sweetest thing I could think of. Everyone in this forum is so nice. I would be happy to reimburse you for the postage and then make a bracelet for you to give to any little girl in your family also.

my mailing address is: Sheri, po box 834, Fairfield, CA 94533

please include a return address (anonymous if you prefer) so that i may reimburse you for the postage and also send a charm bracelet. I only have and use sterling bracelets and findings so it will be a nice one. You MUST have a child in your family who would like one.

If you want to pick the ones to go on it, put eight to a twelve separate in a smaller bag so I know which ones to use for you.

I am kind of in shock at how nice and sweet you guys here are. This is just unheard of nowadays and I am so happy to find it here. I was thinking that mine are in such a nice display case and so pretty just the way they are that I would leave them in it and hang it up. So now yours can be made into something nice.

I thank you from the bottom of my heart. :)

Ha Ha! I make all kinds of charm bracelets and believe me...they are expensive! If you buy charms for your girls then you know how much they can cost! I think these will be a nice bracelet too and also show some historical significance for the Russian society that they originated from. All history needs to be remembered! My bracelets are also "themed" most of the time, this fits perfectly!

Just call me Martha! ha ha

(this is one i am still working on that is themed for an HBO show for my sister who loves the show "True Blood". it is all silver and weighs almost five ounces) mine ARE nice! the second one, that is black, is Vintage typewriter keys from a machine that is over 75 years old. i use lots of different mediums for the message in the bracelet but only silver for quality!

Nice lookin' stuff, Sheri. I'd also like to see the results of your Soviet bracelet when it's done.

I am excited now to design and make it! i will post pics of course!

all kinds of things run thru my head....wire wrap will keep from having to drill any holes or destroy the item itself and can be whatever color the medal is also. i have copper, brass, and sterling silver but i don't use the other colors as they are fake.

the fun is in the designing, the work goes extremely fast. :D

How about a folded up mid-Soviet era rouble folded into one of those squares like are so frequently seen on charm bracelets? Usually a good old £5 or £10 note but why not a Soviet one?

OOOHHH, and i have tiny silver frames (6) for photos that go onto a bracelet. it could be folded so the number shows on one side and they have clear covers for the front like a photo frame would!

that's another WONDERFUL idea!

Maybe the 3 Rouble would be the most "interesting". Not quite the $3 bill but on the right sort of lines.

I AM AMAZED at the ideas you guys come up with!

a "3R" or what ever the design is would be a nice picture to be shown. it would be in keeping with the design of the Russian pieces too. i can figure easily the right "fold" so it shows correctly in the frame.

i SO want to experiment on the ones i have in the large picture frame but i am afraid to start now and mess one up. i am making myself wait until the bag arrives so i can experiment on one that won't go onto his bracelet.....

....sitting on pins and needles is the anticipation feeling! ha ha ;)

Re: are these ZNACHKI ? can someone identify them?

i started practicing "wire wrapping" around some thin pieces of wood my husband cut for me that are about the same size as the znachki i have in the frame.

it looks very nice, actually. around each corner to the back, just a tiny bit showing on the front, and twisted together at the top to make about 3/4 inch long, then bend down to make a loop for attaching to the bracelet.

a pretty silver plated "crimp" bead covers the two ends together. nothing is heavy enough to need any strength either, they are light.

this will be a nice homage` to the Soviet states of Russia and probably represent the era's before the cold war ended, if the dates are right. i like that. all my work is a message of some sort. or a theme, if you will. i also don't sell anything either, this is just a hobby of mine. i used to sell online, but am retired now. boobearsattic.com it's closed but still hanging in space....really. ...:teehee

(this is so much fun. my mind works on these even when i am doing other things....:thumbsup)

The more I read about this the more fun it sounds like it could be.
Sheri, please show some images of the work in progress while you assemble your creation; we love pictures here.
Nice breath of fresh air you are. ;)
