All three victory medals even possible?

I have seen several medal and ribbon configurations where there were two victory medals present. I have seen just about any combination of two of either VoG, VoJ, and VoL medals on original medal or ribbon bars...

but...

Is a legitimate combination of all three possible?

Re: All three victory medals even possible?

Absolutely. Specially for nursing staff who worked as civilian nurses then military nurses then went over to Japan.
On top of the trio being awarded by the Soviet Union you also have the ability of the trio being created with the intervention of the "Umalatova" Labour Medal.

Every Victory Day you see at least one veteran with all three, usually with half a dozen or more other Umalatova items.

I suppose with bureaucratic errors it could be possible to be awarded not only all of these but possibly awarded any of them twice. Somehow I think finding all 3 Medals with award documents dated the same day issued by the same district will be as difficult as finding the holy grail.

Re: All three victory medals even possible?

Paul,

It is a possible, but quite rare, occurance (I am disregarding the Umalatova gang here and talking only about official Soviet awardings, that is, before 26/12/1991).

Most likely, it would imply that a person worked for the war effort while being under age and that their efforts warranted the award of the Valorious Labor medal, then joined the armed forces to take part in the Western front operations before being sent to the Far East in actions against Japan.

As you can see, this would be apply to a rather very limited number of people.

Once again, hail the power of Google! Nikolay Burdenko was awarded all three victory medals.

Nikolay Burdenko - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

How could we forget Lebedev-Kumach, the author of words to the song "The Sacred War"?!!!
Лебедев-Кумач, Василий Иванович — Википедия

Marshal Ustinov
Dmitriy Ustinov - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Finding awardees of 3 victory medals is a fairly simple task of identifying those whose contribution to the war was on the edge of labor and military, such as defense industry generals.

Re: All three victory medals even possible?

Anything can be found with Google... if you are lucky with the right word combinations. It is awesome that you succeeded where I failed

Anyway, thank you for these awesome examples. Now that I know that is possible, I will try to shoot for one of these Victory Cavaliers!!
