odd marshals belt
Took this shot last year; shows an M1945 Marshals parade uniform used at the Victory Parade...note the very odd cross strap that was used on the late 1945 gold belt...i am assuming the strap was to support the sabre....i have never seen another of these belts with this feature.

Seems strange that a bloke could have that many lennins awarded to him by 1945e even if he was a Marshal. Any idea who owned the tunic?

I notice that there is also an Order of the October Revolution visible. This award was instituted in 1967, so I suspect the owner's lifetime aggregation of decorations was put on this tunic for effect even though, strictly speaking, it could not be correct on this particular uniform. An interesting observation: did anyone notice the United States Legion of Merit, Commander, star? I wonder if this was on the display in Soviet times!!

medals on uniforms
yes, often medals were on uniforms even when they were no where near the date of issue....any marshal still alive in 1968 was given the Oct. Rev. and then the museum staff would add it to these parade uniforms, even though they stopped wearing them in 1945/54....this was done in soviet times...i am not sure who this was, I think Tolbukhin, but will have to check my notes.
