Badge "Excellent Firefighter".

Guys,

Any idea what's the exact name of this Badge?
Is it from before or after 91?
What's a reasonable value of this piece?

Dolf,

it is a badge for a "Excellent fire fighter". It has no number. So I think it is
from the 80th´s. I don´t know if these badges were awarded after the collapse of the Sovjetunion.
Normal price should be around 20 Euro´s.
There exist also the same badge with the letters NKVD insteed of MBD. The price for that badge is slightly higher :cry: .

Ruiz,

It is the Distinguished Firefighter badge. This one is post-1956.

Here's a post '68 (and final) example... brass and hot enamel, Moscow mint. Nice looking, high profile, well constructed badge that isn't rare at all.

OK, back home now... Avers 8, page 420, badge #1991. It is described as an MVD, Type 2 badge. Apparently, the MVD, Type 1 would be pre-MOOP, and the Type 2 would be post-MOOP. Also, as you can see, my late model badge is brass. Ruiz' earlier badge seems to be bronze.

Thank you for the information. Ruiz's badge is, IMHO, simply heavily corroded, but of the same type as the one you showed.
