Hello,

I was wondering if there are (good quality) fakes of the Baikal-Amur railroad medal? There's one on an auction site going dirt cheap with a Veteran of the Soviet Armed Forces, Combat Service and random medals with wrong ribbons. Just wondering if the seller is ignorant of the medal's value or pulling my leg?

That is definitely a Type 1, if genuine (which I can't tell from these pictures).

Yes, I agree Marc. I pulled out the big Red Book and it looks good. As soon as it comes in I'll scan it and post the pics.

Other medals he sells doesn't look too good, i usually pass on sellers even if they have 1 or 2 medals that look suspicious.
