Auke,

The deal of the century rarely happens :(

By the way, talking about deals (it wasn't that of the century, but it was reasonable), be very aware, there are some high-quality fakes of the Bulgarian Hero of Labor star (most likely pressure cast in white metal, then covered with real 18K gold). You need to have them in your hand to be able to tell, on a regular picture, they definitely look like the real thing :mad:

Hi,

i just want to show this one. Bought it today really cheaply ad of course i don't think its original, but it looks really good.. so...?

It has two piece suspension device, old ribbon, connection ring is soldered.

Medal is 36mm in diameter and 2,6mm in thickness. I did not clean it, so it came.

So what You think? If it is fake, its a good fake i believe.

Lauri,

Sure looks nice, but I think that it is not the right thing. Could you post a hi-res scan of the right part of the reverse, just to confirm things.

Fake Nakhimov Medal

Lauri;

Looks fake to me. Too many dots on both sides. Also, the numbers look way to perfectly stamped. And the "5"s in the number have that queer little dip in the top strip.

Yes i agree, i did not believe it is real, but i paid almost nothing.. and it looks really good. I keep it anyway. All good fakes what i have seen, are more than 3mm thick, but this one has all correct measurements.

Just some more scans.
