Looks to me like a nice Type 2 OOR

I don't like the golden paint(?) below the flag. Seems strange to me.

I have mixed feelings about this one, but I tend to think that it is OK.

I have seen some sloppy gilding, but this is way over anything else I have encountered. Then again, if it was made on a Monday morning after a "difficult" weekend, why not.

The writing on the banner seems to be slightly different, but it may be due to the angle at which the picture is taken and the enameling. If you can, please post a picture of the flag only, taken at 90 degrees from the surface.

I don't have the medal, it is up for sale and those are the only pics that are available. $350.

When in doubt, leave it out.

I'd leave it out.

Plenty more of them out there that will leave you feeling easier.

Ok, gentlemen, let me rephrase that. There is nothing to indicate that this OOR didn't come out of a Soviet mint. How's that?

Hi,

the gilt looks very sloppily done indeed; otherwise this example seems to be 100% ok. Rivets, mint mark, serial number, enamel, wearing traces, etc. etc. look very convincing.

Just to warn fellow collectors - there are now some scarringly good fakes of the OR on the marked.
