Hi everybody!

First of all I want to congratulate you about the extremely professional work you all do here. I registered in this site because I love, as you do, soviet awards, and I want to share my hobby with other people.

I will beggin my activity here with a "real or fake" question:

A friend bought this badge we all know some weeks ago, in a militaria show. He paid 700 dollars... a price very different to that Avers 8 suggests (page 425). This is his badge:

What do you think? Is my friend a lucky guy who made the deal of his life or he has been scammed? It's a fake?

Thank you for your help guys.

PD: I deleted the picture background to see it better. The weird things you can see in the right are due to that.

Re: Big deal or big fake?

Hi, welcome to forum. It's 10-15 years old fantasy. I bet it has hallmarks on the back:

'84' for silver and couple of others

Hi Mosin,

Welcome to the forum. A picture of the back would be nice...

Re: Big deal or big fake?

With all due respect, but WHY would you spend $700 on something when you have no idea if it's real or fake? And you knew it was priced far below the market value! Something that seems too good to be true is usually exactly that...

I didn't buy it. :chuckle A friend did it. I never spend that ammount in something I haven't previously examined and proved to be original.

I'm calling him this evening to tell about the fake. I told him I was almost sure it was a fake, cause nobody sells an extremely expensive badge for 7 hundred bucks. An absurd price for this badge but a abusive price for a fake!! It's something we all know... I think my friend is impulsive or something. He gonna be depressed when I tell :chuckle

Now I have the pictures I agree with you. Totally fake. Is really awesome is that ph3s knew it just with the first low-quality one :clapclap:clapclap
