White Edging on Conscripts Qualification Badges
I have seen the below conscripts qualification badge before with the white edging and also have on in my collection and was wondering what the significance of them were. Were they decorated by the conscripts or were they issued this way?? Any ideas

I have never seen any one look like that. Regular issue doesn't come with white enamel as you say. Perhaps this could be a "going-home-after-service" thing? Is it real enamel?

That is a theory that I thought of but that sort of thing didn't happen until the 1970s. These were present on 1960s uniforms.

Gentlemen,
I've looked in all my badges books, and couldn't find any explanation either, other than the usual "variations exist". Alexei |
