Polish OMDs Reference Site

Guys,

I just came across a great reference site for Polish Orders and medals. It is in Polish, but navigation is intuitive enough for anybody to figure things out and use it.

Re: Polish OMDs Reference Site

Hello. I am new to this site, but have been collecting Polish decorations for 13 years now. Both pre-WW2 and PRL.

This site is OK. It is authored by Stefan Oberleitner, who wrote a catalog on Polish decorations in the early 1990-ies. The pictures are from this catalog.

They are a mix of originals and copies. For example, the IIRP pictures of Virtuti Militari 1st, 2nd and 3rd clas are all copies. The 5th class is original.

So this site is best used to visualize the types of decorations, but not necessarily to authenticate your collection.

Hello and welcome Tombak! :)

I hope you enjoy looking through the forum. I am sure that over the 13 years you have built up a nice collection, feel free to add any interesting information and images.

Regards Eddie.

Lukasz Gaszewski's extraordinary site is in English and should satisfy most needs for information. It even includes 2nd and 3rd Republic awards.
