hello,

i have bought recently order of patriotic war 2 class. It's little bit unusual, because if u check my photos of this order u see that there is on the reverse small nr.7 in the 10'o clock position. What does this mean ?

I think it is a maker's mark. Let's see what the specialists' opinion is on that one.

here is another figure 7. I thought it was punched in because the no. 13197 was badly visible. But makers mark makes sense.

There are a number of pieces that have numbers, letters and other marks on Soviet Orders.

I have a few pieces myself (Bogdan Khmelnitsky 3, OGPW 1st Class T2 + others) that have markings.

I have T1V3 OPW 2nd class - and there's a letter "L" on the reverse, close to the centre, right next to the rivets..

For your viewing pleasure - OPW 1st class, with extremely low serial number of 194!!!

Note how pin on the back was cut and screw with a plate was soldered on to comply with changed regulations.

i'm just wondering how low serial numbered type 3 u have in your collections?
I found this one on the weekend from local market and bought about 7 usd. Interesting number, i think!

That is pretty low!

Highest observed S/N for T2 is 984431 and the lowest observed S/N for a T3 according to Mr. Durov is 985701.

Personally I would love to own a T3 with a S/N under 1 million.

yes i according to Durov there is lower numbers for T3, but i have never seen pictures or order with lower number then this one. Interesting anyway, but sad that there was no document for it!

I am curious as to the serial number range of the 1985 OGPW 2nd class. I have one numbered 6.505.382, and was wonderng if this is an unusually high number for this award.
