Badge "Commemorative Of The 3rd Congress Of The World Federation Of Trade Unions".
Here is the Badge "Commemorative Of The 3rd Congress Of The World Federation Of Trade Unions" (계3차세계직맹대회기념) awarded by the Central Committee Of The Trade Unions Of Korea (조선직업총동맹중앙위원회) on 10th October 1953. This was less than 4 months after the ceasefire of the war, which is why the quality is a little poor. Constructed from plated copper and featuring a fully uniformed Kim Il-Sung (which is rarely seen later in his rule).

Hi, Ctahhr!
The 3rd World Congress of the W.F.T.U was held in Vienna on the 10-21 of October 1953. General Secretary was Louis Saillant and President of the W.F.T.U Committee was G. Di Vittorio. 40 different countries participated in the 3rd World Congress and the direction board was consisted of: Nicolai Chvernik, Alain Le Leap, Liu Ning I, Vicente Lombardo Toledano, S.A. Dange, Abdoulaye Diallo, Frantisek Zupka, Berthus Brandsen, Piotr Kazakov, Luigi Grassi, Liu Chang Cheng, Henri Jourdain, Ruslan Widjajasastra. Congratulations! The badge is very rare. I've never seen it. |

I also haven't seen another of these. It wasn't cheap but it wasn't silly money.
If these were only "awarded" to DPRK delegates at this conference the number produced will be in the single or low double digits which would indeed make this a truly outstanding find. Now looking at this Badge and its purpose (being displayed on DPRK delegates chests whilst overseas), would it be fair to say that this type of Badge displaying loyalty to Kim Il-Sung is somewhat close to the origins of the modern day Kim Flag Badges? Although I still can't find a report shedding any light onto the DPRK representation at the congress I did find this contemporary NATO report on the event.
