I was wondering the same thing yesterday. Of course compass points would be for further decoration, but now that I agree that it must be German lettering, I really want to know who the manufacturer is.

And I'd like to see the movement.

Not German, but Dutch. Peter the Great adopted Dutch naval terminology when he came back to Russia after his travels in the West and decided to found the Russian Navy.

OK. Now it makes sence.
Peter the Great adopted, and another Tsar is using it again :D

Re: Watch for "Cavaliers of All Three Classes of the Order of Glory"

Maybe it is just me, but this is one of the ugliest watches I ever encountered. BTW, in 2000, I was in Moscow and have seen a lot of watches for sale with dedication of the president etc., with S/N and such.

You can buy "Presidential watches" here:

:thumbsup:D ... and they are expensive !!!!!! :thumbsdown;)

However, the watches for the "Cavaliers of All Three Classes of the Order of Glory" are little different. Maybe they are not real and never been awarded to the veterans, I just don't know.
I saw them on the Internet (Russian Forum), and decided just to share this with the members.]
