Hey Doug, I finally framed the flag!!! It's a WWI Russian Medical/Red Cross Flag.

Hi Doc, yes, your Red Cross flag looks good framed and you have a great collection ( but replace that DDR cap with a nice Soviet one!)

Tell me about the rifle I see!

Nice collection.

I don't mean to detract from it, but the flag is actually a Ukrainian one - the Ukrainian word for "red" chervonii is used instead of the Russian krasnii. Also, the Soviet flag you have accompanying it wouldn't have been around it WWI.

The flag you have framed is Ukrainian; I can't comment on the time period.

The red flag with the yellow hammer and sickle which you posted to the right of the Ukrainian Red Cross flag, is Soviet, definitely not WWI period.

No, I think WWI / Russian Civil War era, but from area of Ukraine.

I think Desantnik was simply saying that the (later) Soviet flag you have in the frame would not be from the same period.

Yes, That's what it was. Dates from the Civil War. The other flag is printed on paper above the description of the flag. Easy enough to change.
