SG84/98 bayonet used in socialistic armies
Here is interesting information.Even if you never were interested in bayonets, you are easily can recognise those.
German SG84/98 bayonets for kar 98 rifles. Before you start to throw rotten eggs on me :D, let me finish please. :swordfight Number one, captured or left overs in Yugoslavia, were revoked, renumbered and used in the army towards with M48 bayos, up till 60 when it's got relapsed by M56 then Zastava. Now the question how do I know? The ones used in Yugoslavia were renumbered, so numbers on the hook and cross guard is the glue. German numbers don't match on those. Second one is a heavy remake, but still recognisable. Bulgarian army fighting knife, used up to 60s then got relapsed by AK 6x3 bayos, some of them got nickel-plated and still were used as 'man on duty' (dnevalni) knife. :piva Any additional info or clarification is appreciated

Re: SG84/98 bayonet used in socialistic armies
There was certainly some reusing of old "fascist" or "imperialist" items. I have a Steyr-Mannlicher M1895 Bayonet which was in use by the Bulgarian People's Army (Apparently used by the most reserved of reserve troops). It has Austro-Hungarian markings on it and the blade has been sharpened so much over it's lifetime that it is bowed inwards. I also have within a soviet entrenching tool case an imperial Austro-Hungarian entrenching tool with the date 1894 on it. I bet if the tool could talk it could tell of some holes it's dug! Why waste labour when you can steal materiel from the imperialists?
