Badge "Honoured State Security".
Honored State Security Employee, #3125, 1980s. Silver-plated brass, gilt and enamel. Mint marked, numbered, 2-piece construction. Late variation with prongs holding the star, and without horizontal relief “bars” on the reverse in the central portion. Mint mark to the bottom left.
This was the highest award specific to KGB officers, issued only to a very few for outstanding achievements. Note the serial number which is near the top of serial number range for this decoration, a strong indicator of relative scarcity value apx 400-500 USD

Hi,
i just wanted to show To You dear collegues what come to my collection. It's documented group to Colonel Holodilin employee of NKVD/KGB since 1938. Group includes: Order Of Red Banner snr.534 547 1967 award Order of Red Star snr. 3266707 1954 award Medal of combat service snr.2735873 1946 award Irreproachable service medal XX kgb in silver 1958 award armed forces veteran medal, given by KGB in Sverdlovsk vićtory over germany and patriotic war valiant labor medal all victory and soviet army jubilee medals doc's are with kgb stamps KGB militaru ID, KGB pension id, KPSS ID, and veteran ID given by FSB of Russian Federation. But for me is most important that he has documented badge of Honoured state security employee snr.2237. This is something that is really hard to get with document. Only ca 7375 badges was given in period of 1957- 1991. It was really high and desired award for KGB officers. All his life i was serving mainly in the North Russia, Sverdlovsk.
