Inside look like current belorussian or russian lower-rank non-army caps.
Sweatband not adjustable and diamond label... |

copy
1990's copy of a "KGB General"...this is not a real one and I doubt that 'real' ones were even out there...this debate is on some older threads...i still am on the side of there not being real "KGB Generals" uniforms per se.

How about this one?
The cap as such seems to be authentic - looks like m69 general's service. All features are like in army ghenerals' caps from that period, apart from the very steep crown front.
It has no frame, but it's because guy who brought it to Poland removed all frames so that capr would not take so much space in his bag and then took only older (smaller) frames by mistake. I think that it may be KGB honour guards (but I don't know if their service caps also had adjustable sweatbands) that somone "improved" by addition of the buttons and generals cocade. |

Cageybee,
That is not a general's cap, but an officer of honor guard cap. Nice though! Marc |

your cap is indeed the model used by the honor guard at the Lenin Mausoleum 1988-1993.The manufacture is the same high quality as for generals peaked caps. Do you mind posting a close up of the badge fixed on the crown please? If you can do a pic of the reverse of the badge that would be more helpful... Cheers,OKP. |

hi folks,
i have just found a new kgb general for offer. on the Big E "NEUF et RARE CASQUETTE SOVIETIQUE pour GENERAL KGB". My guess is a honer guard one, with an general cocard. it does not look well constructed on the insite. there is a gap in the lether sweat band. and the orange cord looks wierd to me ? the cap goes for 90,- Last edited by Ser-g; 02-25-2008 at 07:07 AM. Re: KGB General service visor cap at eB
hi folks ,,
again i found a not so good looking general cap of kgb on Ebay. "Soviet Russian KGB officer vizor hat 7-1/2 to 7-5/8 XL" THIS IS AN KGB OFFICER'S VISOR HAT. LATE TRIM (MUST HAVE BEEN ISSUED BEFORE THE COLLAPSE OF THE SOVIET EMPIRE). IT IS THE SOVIET OD GREEN WITH DARK BLUE KGB PIPING AND KID LEATHER SWEAT BAND. MUCH HIGHER QUALITY THAN THE SIMILAR VIZOR HATS FROM OTHER BRANCHES OF SERVICE. SOVIET OFFICER NATIONAL CREST IS ATTACHED . SIZE 60 or 61 (7-1/2 to 7-5/8 OR XL), IN GREAT CONDITION. it goes for 90,- usd it just looks weird to me ,, the diamond is off and the buttons look like officer's one's. |
