Re: Labour Glory.
A little more information on the previous award has come to light thanks to the excellent Matteti! :)
Here is the Ukaz from the Pravda on 11.06.1986 (the award was issued on the 10th) OLG Clipping.jpg "...for the success achieved in the 11th Five-Year plan and socialist obligations awarding orders and medals of the USSR to a large group of the most distinguished workers, technical workers and employees, associations, enterprises, scientific research, and other organizations <word missing> automotive, machine tool, tool, electrical industry, heavy, transport, chemical, petroleum, construction, road, utility, tractor and agricultural machinery, instrumentation, automation tools ... and control systems engineering for livestock and ... production for light and food industries and household" The other Ukaz in the paper were for awards like HoSL, Order of Lenin and RBoL, so i agree with matteti that we can make an informed decision that the OLG3 above was part of this mass awarding :) I would also like to take this oportunity again to thank Matteti for all his hard word in looking this up for me, it is greatly appreciated :thumbsup Cheers, Tommy |

Re: Labour Glory.
Seems a little bit fast to me. Usually there is bit more of a delay between Ukaz and the handing out of the book.... Specially all the way out in a different SSR.
I could be wrong of course.

Re: Labour Glory.
The ukaz for this award is 10.06.1986, but that says nothing about when the award was actually handed out. In other words, the lack of an issue date in the order book doesn't indicate that it was the award was presented the same day as the ukaz.
But good research work :) |

That's right.
I was thinking booklet issue date. Too many early mornings!

Re: Labour Glory III,414024
There are 3 dates to take note of. Only 2 apply in this case.
#1 Date of Ukaz (This is the particular date referred to in this booklet) #2 The publication date of the news of the Ukaz (as newspapers can't predict the future) #3 Date of the award booklet (The date the recipient actually was issued the award usually slightly stalled from the date of the Ukaz) This award booklet doesn't have an issue date just a Ukaz date. Some just have "ukaz", some just "issue" and some have both.

Re: Labour Glory III,414024
Ahh excellent,
I got my Ukaz and award dates mixed up then. So in this case: Ukaz date: 10.06.2012 Ukaz print date in paper: 11.06.2012 (possibly) Awarded to recipient: Some point after this |

Quote:
The majority of awards were presented after the Ukaz date. Every once in a while you'll see one issued the same day. ...It would be interesting to study instances of same-day awardings. I bet the issuing authorities sometimes received notice of pending decrees. |

Re: Labour Glory III,414024
I would suggest we would see some correlation between period of time between the Ukaz and the issue and distance from the Kremlin. So most likely Muscovites' awards are the place to look for same day (or those ferried in to Moscow).
