Re: Fake Medals for Valiant and Distinguished Labor

Dear forum menbers,

this medal came across my way. What do you think about the medal and expecially about the triangle suspension.

The medal looks okay to me. The upper star touches the boarder and number (No) is stamped and looks right.

The measurements of the suspension are:
diameter screw 3,85 mm
top/down 28,5mm
left/right 33,1 mm
thickness 1,03 mm

best regards and thanks in advance
Andreas

Re: Fake Medals for Valiant and Distinguished Labor

Andreas,

The medal itself looks OK, apart from what seems to be a repaired ring.
Could you please post some scans of the edges of the suspension>

Marc

Andreas,

It's a nice medal with a genuine suspension.

Re: Fake Medals for Valiant and Distinguished Labor

I found this Medal for Distinguished Labor T1 V2

Medal seems ok, but the booklet is a faked one no? such a medal awarded in 1945
Suspension looks also bad, can you confirm it?
Thanks

Re: Fake Medals for Valiant and Distinguished Labor

Laurent,

I think that the medallion is genuine. The suspension, as you suspected, is definitely fake, especially since medals in this SN range were issued on 5-sided suspensions.
The document seems to be OK, albeit potentially for one small detail: the medal number is higher than the booklet number. I have seen it happen the other way around, but never this way
Here are a closely related medal and its document.

Re: Fake Medals for Valiant and Distinguished Labor

Laurent,

The award booklet is not that strange, it is pretty much in line with what it should be.
