Medal "For Loyalty To Tradition".

The Medal "For Loyalty To Tradition" is one of many "Veteran" awards of the "Russian Awards Committee".

Re: Medal "For Loyalty To Tradition".

Is that Komsomol related? It has that 'vibe', to me anyway.

Re: Medal "For Loyalty To Tradition".

It may be "sold" as Komsomol or related but since the Komsomol went out with the U.S.S.R. it can only allude to it. There are a great deal of organisational awards that want you to "feel" things that are not true. Specially FSB, MOD and MVD connections.

Re: Medal "For Loyalty To Tradition".

I was only sayin' that the central image on the obverse looked like a Komsomol badge. I see the intials are somewhat different. So sorry for the confusion.

Re: Medal "For Loyalty To Tradition".

There is no confusion I think. It wants to be seen as Komsomol - It isn't but it wants to be.

These organisational items are quite difficult to get your head around when they are overt and almost impossible when they are distracting and distorting.

Many of the unofficial awards of the modern Russian Federation only exist due to financial reasons. If someone was never in a service (like the Army or Militia) they may feel out of place purchasing themselves a service award. If they were only old enough (or lucky? enough) to be in the Komsomol don't worry they have that covered. Get your money out and pin this to your chest on 9th May. Keep the "tradition" now Umalatova's packed it in.
