Re: Fake Orders of Glory

Its a step up from MZPP red stars!

Glories would be quite difficult to engrave, if you make one number too big, you'll run out of space very quickly!

Re: Fake Orders of Glory

It happens more easily than most imagine.

Also a rotating tool can be very difficult to control. Many times I practised engraving brass plaques for coffins before being able to put tool to fresh piece of brass.

I wonder how many awards were defaced by a poor job and then smelted.

Interesting question! Does anybody know persons who were engravers? Is there a forum section which covers this?

Re: Fake Orders of Glory

I would appreciate any opinion about this Slava-2, which I assumed original but was not able to properly classify it by Mondvor "encyclopedia". Despite of heavy wear it suffered, the double window is still visible.

Gents,

Ref post #708 above, just noted that after a couple of listings with no takers, he's relisted with a new BIN price of $9800.00.

It's now at $9,600 and still dropping.

The rarely seen triplet variant is now on the well-known auction site. These babies could be yours for a mere BIN price of $119.00.

Sure, here it is.
Andreas, maybe you can help me to classify it? (if it's real, of course)
Thank you in advance!
